In January 2008 connectivity between the Research and Education Communities in Europe and Sub-Saharan Africa was established with a 1 Gbps between the UbuntuNet Alliance and GÉANT.
GIS information tools, all kind of data (health, geologic, climate change, population growth, and social and development infrastructure) will be processing in a same GIS data Base. The result will be free and under GPL licence.
